London-based artist, Thompson Hall, utilises abstracted symbols and text to shed light on issues of inequality concerning politics, social change and marginalisation. Working primarily in acrylic paint and pastels, Hall is influenced by the work of artists including Althea McNish, Ronald Moody and Kehinde Wiley.
Hall is Autograph’s first on-site artist-in-residence. This display will mark the end of his residency, designed to support the artist’s practice coming out of Covid-19 related lockdowns.
