This exhibition is a rare chance to see the drawings and collages by Rachel. They portray notions of time. Records of a journey, as found in the series ‘Following The Rings of Saturn’, a circular walk frequently made & recorded over the last 10yrs. The series ‘Detritus’ are inspired by beach debris, made up of vegetation & discarded items, tangled clusters – which are reminiscent of fetishes & Relics. The Series ‘If I had Wings’ capture fleeting thoughts, which momentarily illuminated a shadow of a memory, revealing a glimpse of a state of being. The passage of time and snapshots of journeys both internal & external. What links this body of work is the passing of time from the fleeting, the passing of every year, over a decade and the very quick passages of time that are thoughts in mind.
