MA research can be regarded as an individual journey, each artist developing their own very personal project. On the other hand such work is decidedly theoretical in engaging with conceptual and visual research that drives the practice into the academic realm. This level of rigorous investigation unites the artists of this exhibition. All the practitioners within this group explored projects close to their heart resulting in this exciting body of work. Having initially introduced the group to philosophical texts, seemingly less important to photographic praxis, it was a joy to see how each of the members took on board some of the most complex theories and incorporated them into thrilling visual bodies of work. What is more, the members of this group have not only developed individually, but formed into a cohesive group, learning from each other through sharing, discussing, critiquing and exploring their work. As disparate as the projects are, there are links that relate them to each other. One of the most dominant themes running through this exhibition is the interrogation of photographing what cannot be seen.
