Touring Territories has developed in response to Aid and Abet’s ambitious Space Exchange project involving artist run groups from across the UK: Grand Union (Birmingham) | Satellite (Eastern Region) | Spike Island Associates (Bristol) | The Royal Standard (Liverpool) | The Woodmill (London). Featured as part of Space Exchange, Satellite artists Nicola Naismith and Dominique Rey have instigated a collaboration with Dave Evans, artist member of The Royal Standard, Liverpool. Acting as research assistants, Naismith and Rey will travel the Eastern Region in search of material related to Evan’s current interest in UFO sightings. By asking Evans (The Royal Standard, Liverpool) to nominate ideas of current interest located within East Anglia, Naismith and Rey will explore disparate areas of the Eastern Region. Equipped as UFO incident investigators, the duo will search for traces of real or unverified UFO incidents, gathering as yet unidentified evidence that might include photographs, objects, sound and conversations. The research material will be sent to the Aid and Abet gallery during the exhibition to form an evolving body of corroboration. An a-n blog is being kept of the project please see www.a-n.co.uk/link/satellite-blog
