“We don’t have our own physical space but we have a cultural landscape”. In October 2011 artists Nicola Naismith and Dominique Rey developed Touring Territories; a project for Space Exchange at Aid and Abet in Cambridge. The artists, both founder members of the artist collective Satellite, initiated a research structure whereby an artist from outside the region assigns a research subject according to their own interests. Dave Evans (The Royal Standard) tasked the pair to explore UFO sightings in the eastern region. Acting as jobbing researchers, Naismith & Rey travelled to areas of potential sightings through the region, seeking information through field trips, interviews and explorations. In the spirit of ‘Space Exchange’ the pair then explored Liverpool, remotely through internet sources presenting an artist in talk about the city of Liverpool to audiences at Aid & Abet in Cambridge during the Space Exchange project. This research was further developed on a field trip to Liverpool in March 2012. This evening event offers information about the project as a whole. Speaking about their experiences, the artists will show images of both UFO research, but also their understanding of Liverpool through their ‘inexpert’ eyes. The UFO archive of material will be available to view and will be presented to Dave Evans. Touring Territories is a Satellite Project developed and delivered by Nicola Naismith and Dominique Rey
