An exhibition coinciding with the Transmission: Host conference, which is taking place in Sheffield Hallam University’s Furnival Building Thursday 1st July – Saturday 3rd July (exhibition continues until 11th July). The exhibition aims to expand the format of the conference by opening the gallery as an alternative space for thinking about the themes proposed by the ongoing Transmission lecture series (each week a ‘host’ from Sheffield invites and introduces and artist to talk about their work) and generate a dialogue between the conference, the artists and the audience. The exhibition will explore new approaches to the curation of sound by presenting translations of individual Transmission lectures through manipulating or responding to the sound recordings from the original talk as audio, installation, sculpture and interaction. Artists to be included and revisited as part of the Exhibition are Doug Fishbone, William Hunt, Sharon Kivland, Neil Webb, Neal Rock.
