Opening 7th November and running until late December, this exciting exhibition at Spitalfields Studios marks the culmination of a year long collaboration between artists James Aldridge and Karen Wood.
Both artists’ work focuses on exploring and responding to the areas in which they live and work. Karen is based at Spitalfields Studios, and James in rural Wiltshire.
Together they have met and walked in London and Wiltshire regularly across the year, using a range of media to record their interactions with architecture, wildlife and people, and create new studio-based work in response.
Working as Urban Rural Exchange they have documented their explorations of the relationship between the urban and the rural online via the @UrbanRuralExchange Instagram page.
The exhibition is open Monday to Sunday by appointment – email Karen on [email protected] to confirm.
The exhibition will open on Thursday 7th November, with a launch event from 6pm to 9 pm as part of the Whitechapel Gallery First Thursdays.
