‘Utopia Banished’ is the solo exhibition of recent work by Edinburgh based British artist Jon Canty.
The exhibition is based around the theme of dystopia and confronts issues relating to war, the threat of nuclear apocalypse and the effects on the human condition under such scenarios.
The exhibition features paintings of the interior of the fascinating Nuclear Bunker in Fife, Scotland and intriguing portraits of figures clad in gas masks taken from historical photography.
Opening times:
Friday 6th March 2020: Opening night 6pm-9pm – all welcome to attend and enjoy a glass of wine and chat with the artist and experience appropriate dark atmospheric music.
