  Watersheds 2 ‘Works about Words’

This summer The Gallery in The Storey is hosting a second Watersheds art exhibition showcasing brand new work by 30 artists, printmakers, photographers, ceramicists, textile artists and a group of Yr5 students from Dallas Road School.

The inspiration for these art works are the poems of Tom Bowker, a Lancaster poet, historian, fellwalker, guidebook writer and former pupil of Dallas Rd School.

When Tom died in 2019 he left a legacy of captivating poetry that takes the reader with him high into the mountains he loved, onto the battlefields that shaped our country and into the factories of Lancaster’s industrial heritage. He shares love and loss with humour and candour and the Watersheds exhibitions are a way of sharing these with a wider audience.

You are invited to meet the artists at 6.30pm Saturday 13th July, share their journey from ‘words to works’, and enjoy Tom’s poetry in a new publication.

Watersheds is curated by Tom’s daughters Julie & Helen and his wife Joyce.

It opens on Saturday 13th July and runs until Friday 19th (Closed Sunday 14th)

Entry is free and it is open from 10-6pm. Any donations raised will support Cancer care, Lancaster
