An exciting contemporary art exhibition is coming to central Carlisle next month. Taking place in the ‘Undercroft’, deep beneath Carlisle Railway Station, this exhibition will use space that is very rarely open to the public and has never before housed an event of this nature.
Under the title We AM the artists will be presenting new video and sound installations as part of the Masters Degree programme in Contemporary Fine Art at the University of Cumbria.
Laura M R Harrison invites you to step into the darkness to consider what it might mean to be ‘lost’ and re-imagine ways in which we could approach the unknown. Rob Sara will be showing pieces of performative video work that explore how meaning is received and transmitted through the visual and gestural, as well as through speech and sign based communication systems.
By temporarily re-purposing this space, the artists and Mark Green and the Virgin Trains Team demonstrate their commitment to being an innovative part of the cultural fabric of Carlisle and welcome you to be part of this exciting event.
Due to the nature of the location places are limited so booking is essential. Viewings will take place at the following times:
Wednesday 3rd Sept 7:00pm
Thursday 4th Sept 7:00pm
Saturday 6th Sept 2:30pm
Saturday 6th Sept 7:00pm
