To conclude her two month residency at Karin Janssen Project Space, Anna Lopez will reveal how passersby have reacted to the unexpected scenarios she set up in Well Street. Did the audience interact with Lopez’ mise-en-scènes or did they blank her peculiar requests? During her residency Lopez stimulated the local public to give their personal – and sometimes subconscious – contributions to create a new body of work. The aim of the residency was to investigate possible ways of dialogue and engagement between the newly opened art space and the established local community. Lopez played with residents, provoking them to stop and see their street and its characters in a different way. In addition Well Sonic – Lopez’ audio tour to introduce Well Street and its residents – will provide visitors with the opportunity to discover the small sounds and big voices that give personality to Well Street. Visitors will be given an audio player with headphones and a map to guide them during the audio walk, to let them embark on a sonic tour of the area as Lopez experienced it.
