Welland Festival: Cap Stories
8 & 9 June 2019
Elland, West Yorkshire
Welland Festival Associate Artist Alice Bradshaw has been collecting Elland stories and discarded bottle caps through guided litter-picking, story-telling walks around Elland and via local collections and workshops. The resultant interactive installation will be on display at Bethusda Church (8 June) and Wainwright Hall (9 June) in Elland with a workshop for visitors to add to the installation on 8 June (materials provided but feel free to bring your own bottle caps!)
Welland is Calderdale’s first festival of wellbeing, created for the community of Elland and it’s surrounding areas. The festival’s theme for 2019 is ‘Move Well, Live Well’ and it explores how much better people can feel if they get moving and experience ways to live happier, more connected lives. Welland will be part of an international celebration of wellness, Global Wellness Day, which will be celebrated around the world on June 8th 2019.
