WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
The workshop will consider the ways in which concept maps can demonstrate how people visualise relationships between various concepts focusing on the theme: global climate crisis. The framework we will use includes context, mind and body. Visualising thoughts, facts and emotions, in order to reflect over the past, to consider the present and to imagine the future within the supportive context of a group. A concept map can be understood as a personal narrative blueprint, something that can be kept as an artefact and potentially expanded upon.
The format for the workshop will include an introduction to concept mapping and artistic metaphor, followed by a series of concept mapping activities and group discussions. We will be using print-outs of the sculpture, tracing paper to build layers of enquiry, cutting and collaging, and drawing using pens and pencils.
Materials are included.
