To be opened by Iwan Bala. With work by Owen Griffiths, Dan McCabe, Tom O’Sullivan, Dave Phillips, Fern Thomas, Adele Vye, Paul Woodland plus Kathryn Ashill. It emerged from a need to respond to what was happening. It came from a series of questions, from not knowing. It caught us when reading an article in 'The Guardian' that quoted 'They wouldn't put a pipeline like this through Surrey'. This exhibition documents the responses of seven people working as artists who call Wales their home. The work has been produced by physically engaging with the landscape that the pipe has affected, from talking to others, from talking together, from a process of enquiry. Whilst the exhibition can be seen as a specific response to the pipeline it can also be seen in the larger context of development in Wales, both conscious and unconscious. Framework is a collective of artists based in Swansea. Since first coming together in 2006 they have endeavoured to support each others emerging practices whilst establishing a public profile hosting regular live art events that provide a space for creative exchange in Wales.
