You Say Tomato, I Say Tomato is an inventive new exhibition of audio, video and sculptural works in Wigan, Greater Manchester. This is the second year the curators, Nathalie Boobis & Anna FC Smith, have worked on such a project as part of NXNW Arts Festival (www.nxnwfestival.co.uk). Their aim is to achieve the same high standard of work, eminence of artists, and strength of concept as any major gallery show. You Say Tomato, I Say Tomato is an exploration of the mechanisms of spoken language. The game of language is played out on a giant chessboard constructed on the floor of an old mill building and, amongst others, features the work of British artist, Simon Morse, and a live daily internet performance between French artist, Annie Abrahams and German experimental musician, Antye Greie.
