Class of 2020: Thomas Kershaw
BA (Hons) Fine Art, The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).
“My work is a deconstruction of classical art imagery, taking references from sculptures and paintings found in museums and art galleries across the UK. I use oil paint along with digital drawing to depict layers of construction within the painting, leaving them unfinished and focusing heavily on those formal qualities of a figure such as facial structure and eyes. Creating these is like adding to my own archive of collections from museums.”
Degree show: UCLan’s virtual degree show, ‘Virtually Made It’, launches on 16 July 2020 at uclan.ac.uk/degreeshows and the online degree show catalogue can be found at issuu.com/uclanfineart
