A Negative ReflectionMelanie King, ‘A Negative Reflection’, Glass and permanent marker pen, 29.5.12. Photo: Melanie King. This is a paradoxical piece, neither a sculpture, nor a drawing – but somehow both. Made from Glass with marker pen contours, it creates a distorted highly reflective and engaging sculpture until you look at it from one direction. A partial face – nose, lips and chin appear from deep within the glass. The space between the glass is as integral as the solid materials. It sits atop a white pedestal in a completely white, brightly lit room. This is being displayed at the diploma show at Tresham College. I am currently in my first year on this FdA Course and am looking forward to starting year 2 in September!!!!!
