47 Springtimes

47 Springtimes – it’s what I’ve had. In fact – it’s probably 48, but 47 came to mind more quickly. We live our lives at increasing rates as we grow older, and reflect often on our memories of past seasons. We have not really experienced all that many, truth be told. Ours is but a fleeting glimpse of the whole story of life on earth. This piece captures time at an end, after 47 springtimes. It embodies natural decay, chance, & decision. It is composed of decomposition. It is art from not art. When I made this, in the last couple of weeks, I dwelled-upon the thought of ‘this day being the last’. Who knows when that day might be for any of us? But it just might be – and these works are an epitaph in visual form.
