As I previously mentioned, Arman’s destruction in order to create – especially this particular project from the mid-eighties – was a big creative door opening into another imaginarium for me. To fix such destruction in bronze served to elevate it to high art status. I’m not so much interested in that – I’m more into the grunge & grit of the actual object before it was cast.
