The Green Line

Christine Hardman, ‘The Green Line’, mixed media on board, July 2008. This work reflects on my memories of living in Cyprus before the Turkish invasion of 1974, and pays homage to the Greek and Turkish Cypriot people whose lives were destroyed by the Green Line and what it represents: 3,000 dead, 1,588 missing, and 200,000 refugees in their own country – that is the whole Greek Cypriot population of the Turkish occupied area.
