Royal and Derngate in Northampton commissioned me to create a piece of Live Art, which was partly a Creative Evaluation of their involvement of the National Theatre Connections Festival. I worked with over 100 young people, transcribing their experiences and ideas into marks and colour. The painting was 24ft by 8ft and was painted live in the Foyer of the Royal and Derngate. A fabulous experience and wonderful to be able to work on such a large scale. Followed on nicely from ‘Magdalene’ in that sense. Here it is on show at NN Contemporary Art in their Project Space.
