SpinState

Nick Turvey, ‘SpinState’, Acrylic & Stainless Steel, 2008. The origins of quanta, the irreducible units of energy invoked by particle physicists, can be traced back to the writings of Democritus. But are there corresponding elemental units of form? If so, it seems unlikely that they can be adequately described in three dimensions, given current string theory. In an analytical breakdown of movement, this piece proposes a way in which those implicate dimensions might be visualised.
