‘Discovering Malawi’. Thinking about the power tool thing, and I believe this was a major factor in the success of this project. It placed the pupils on an equal status as me. Somewhere where they probably never get with the class teachers. This level playing field I think made them change their perception of the pupil / teacher thing. They became makers just as much as I am a maker and I think this is the reason for their ownership and enthusiasm.
