a-n is seeking new Board members to join its governance team as the organisation gets ready to celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2020.
Since 1980, a-n has grown from a grass roots, 500-copy-a-month newsletter, to a magazine, online platform, and now a full professional membership offer focusing on members’ needs.
a-n The Artists Information Company is the largest artists’ membership organisation in the UK and in the last three years has achieved its highest ever membership and income, reaching over 23,000 members and a £1m turnover.
a-n Board determines policy and sets the strategic direction of the organisation. Board members play an active role representing a-n externally as well as monitoring the organisation against its agreed objectives and targets.
Chair of a-n Jayne Knight and CEO Julie Lomax are leading the search for new Board members to develop the skills base. We are particularly looking for the following skills and experience: Communications and marketing (digital); Curating and producing contemporary visual art; Art market and commercial gallery sector; Digital and technology sector; Fundraising and business development.
This is a pivotal time for the organisation with ambitious ideas, programmes and a critical role to play championing, campaigning for and supporting visual artists.
