Turner Contemporary to host 2019 Turner prize The Margate gallery, which is built on the site of a boarding house the artist visited when painting there, has been announced as the venue for the 2019 Turner Prize exhibition. The exhibition is presented at a venue outside London every other year – this year, it is in Hull.
Charles I’s art collection to be brought back to UK The most important British regal art collection in history, which was sold off by Oliver Cromwell’s republican government, is to be temporarily reassembled for a collaborative exhibition between the Royal Academy of Arts and the Royal Collection Trust. It will feature works by artists including Titian, Van Dyck, Rubens, Holbein, and Mantegna.

Leaked document lays out Facebook’s policy on sex and nudity in art The Guardian has seen more than 100 internal documents from the social media giant, including one clarifying guidelines on sex and nudity in art. $75 million gift from Bloomberg Philanthropies for New York’s new Centre for Artistic Invention Currently under construction on Manhattan’s west side, The Shed is scheduled to open to the public in spring 2019. The Bloomberg gift brings the total funds raised for the project to $421 million of the $500 million capital campaign goal.
