Visual artist Felicity Shillingford has produced 10 new pieces in response to the Clarks Shoe Museum. These ‘shoe artworks’ (pictured above) respond to the history and themes of shoe branding and design as well as entertaining the various functions and sculptural forms of the shoe.

Liverpool Artists’ Book Fair
Liverpool Book Art is staging the second annual Liverpool Artists’ Book Fair, with stalls by over 40 artists and workshop activities for children. Participants include Marches Book Art Group, Carol Ramsay, Kim Bevan, Deb Neely and Writing Maps.

Beginning Times
Kenji Lim’s exhibition of intricate and atmospheric ink drawings and paintings of woodland and animals include new works presented on a monumental scale, specifically created for the Globe at Hay’s exhibition space. Referencing mythology and fairytales, these works of architectural scale offer the potential for an immersive encounter for the audience.

Lytham Arts Festival
The Lancashire seaside town of Lytham hosts an eclectic cross-artform arts festival that includes a digital festival at the Museum of Gaming, a literary festival at Lytham Library, visual arts exhibitions and a variety of street performance and music.

Step in Stone
This three-part project inviting 14 artists to respond to East Mendips’ quarries opens next week with an exhibition, talks and guided walks at Somerset Earth Science Centre. Over the summer and autumn, site-specific art trails will be installed in Halecombe’s working quarry, the vast disused Westdown quarry and Fairy Cave Quarry, with a number of public events and exhibitions.
