For his residency at the Machine Rooms, artist Graham Dunning will be continuing his research into rhythm and drone through the creation of experimental automata and sculptural works. Alongside his daily open studio, Dunning has invited guest artists to present their work during a weekly discussion group that further explores the relationship and meeting points between sound and visual art.

The National Sculpture Symposium London Conference and publication launch
Artists who took part in the First National Sculpture Symposium in 2014 will be presenting their works in an afternoon of presentations and discussions that launches the resulting publication for this inaugural large-scale sculpture exhibition. Artist-founded network ForumArts have initiated the day’s proceedings with an emphasis on the role of sculpture in the countryside.

Curious Artefacts
Artist Becky Campbell has invited 81 artists, architects, designers and writers to contribute objects, artworks and texts that will form part of an installation-exhibition presented in a manner suggestive of items recovered from an archaoelogical dig. Inspired by an archive photograph of finds from an excavation of Greece’s Antikythera shipwreck, the exhibition considers the curious inbetween status of the ‘not yet fully understood’ artefact.

Symposium – The Immediacy of Paint: The Role of Painting in the Digital Age
Artists and MA students Laurel Berry and Laura Leahy convene this symposium that considers ‘painting in the contemporary moment’. Highlighting the range of practitioners in the East of England, one of the aims is to initiate new meetings and networks. Speakers include Dan Hays, Ehryn Torrell and Matthew Krishanu.

re:collect Cabinet of Curiosity
The six artists of the re:collect collective are bringing their touring, collaborative Cabinet of Curiosity to sit amongst the baroque furnishings of the medieval Powis Castle. The cabinet’s numerous nooks and crannies contain a changing curation of artworks that respond to particular heritage sites. re:collect are Jacqui Dodds, Jill Impey, Elizabeth Turner, Julie Edwards, Sue Challis and Ann Kelcey.
