Reservoir
Jolanta Dolewska‘s stark photographic works proffer a foreboding narrative that takes the viewer beyond the immediate image. Exploring ‘ambiguity of perception’, the normality of an otherwise everyday scene is filled with a potentially menacing otherness. In Reservoir, Dolewska takes inspiration from her late photographer father’s own archive of family photographs, school portraits and technical documentation and transposes his negatives with her own in order to subtly alter and expand the possible interpretations.
Until 29 March 2016, Rough Print Gallery, 14 Bradbury Street, Dalston, London, N16.
