Marrakech Biennale, Marrakech, Morocco The fifth Marrakech Biennale brings together the visual arts, literature, performing arts and cinema for a programme under the heading of ‘Where Are We Now?’ For the visual arts strand, the exhibition features 43 predominantly Moroccan artists and presents a series of mainly site-specific works, produced in and inspired by the city of Marrakech.

Bibliology, Haute-Normandie, France
An exhibition presenting artists’ books and editions from the extensive Frac Haute-Normandie collection. Based on the Universal Decimal Classification System, developed in the early 20th century by two Belgian bibliographers Paul Otlet and Henri La Fontaine, the books are arranged according to main classes of knowledge, such as ‘Social Sciences’, ‘Mathematics’, ‘Natural Sciences’, etc. Featured artists include Simon Patterson, Jonathan Monk, Rodney Graham and Tacita Dean.

Alice Aycock Drawings: Some Stories Are Worth Repeating, Santa Barbara, USA
Split across the Santa Barbara Museum of Art (SBMA) and the University of California, Santa Barbara’s Art, Design & Architecture Museum (AD&A Museum), this exhibition is the first comprehensive survey of American artist Alice Aycock’s drawings, and features pieces from 1971 to the present. Exploring the areas between fantasy and science, the psychological and the visceral, Aycock is best known for her large-scale installations and outdoor sculptures.

The 2nd CAFAM Biennale, Beijing, China
Taking its title from the words of economist Adam Smith, in The Invisible Hand: Curating as Gesture at CAFA Art Museum, six exhibitions have been curated by six different curatorial programmes: California College of the Arts, San Francisco; China Central Academy of Fine Art, Beijing; China Academy of Art, Hangzhou; de Appel arts centre, Amsterdam; École du Magasin, Grenoble; and the Royal College of Art, London. Featured artists across the exhibitions include Céline Condorelli & Gavin Wade, Bik van Der Pol, Tino Sehgal and Omer Fast.
