Whitney Biennial, New York, USA
The final Whitney Biennial in the museum’s current space before it moves downtown. For this last fling in what has been the Whitney’s home since 1966, three external curators have overseen one floor each to create a snapshot of American art at this particular moment. The result is three varied presentations featuring over 100 American artists.

The Armory Show, New York, USA
The annual Armory Show art fair takes over Piers 92 and 94 on Manhattan’s west side on the Hudson River. With presentations of modern and contemporary art from commercial galleries as well as events and exhibitions, this year the four-day event also includes a focus on Chinese art.

Mona Hatoum: Turbulence, Doha, Qatar
Turbulence is London-based, Beirut-born artist Mona Hatoum’s largest ever solo show in the Arab world, presenting more than 70 works made within the last 30 years. The exhibition includes room installations, sculptures, photographs, works on paper and documentation of her early performance works.

A Few Grams of Red, Yellow, Blue: New Romanian Art, Warsaw, Poland
More than 20 Romanian artists who grew up under Communism only to witness its demise, present work at the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle. Mainly from Bucharest and Cluj, but with many now living outside Romania, the works featured include painting, video, sculpture, performance and installation, and reflect the contrasting social conditions of communist austerity and capitalist consumerism.
