Up to 70 works will be selected for the 2015 Jerwood Drawing Prize, the largest and longest running annual open exhibition for drawing in the UK.
Now in its 21st year, the prize is open to all UK-based artists, from students to established practitioners. The exhibition will take place at the Jerwood Space, London from 16 September to 25 October 2015, and will then tour to venues across the UK.
This year’s selectors are artist Dexter Dalwood, artist, curator and writer Salima Hashmi, and art historian John-Paul Stonard.
An awards ceremony will take place on 15 September 2015 when a first prize of £8,000, second prize of £5,000 and two student awards of £2,000 each will be presented.
Last year’s winner, Alison Carlier, won first prize for her piece described as an ‘open-ended audio drawing’. She has since featured in the Drawing Biennial, Drawing Room, London, plus had a solo show at Hardwick Gallery, University of Gloucestershire, Cheltenham.
Registration for artists entering the Jerwood Drawing Prize 2015 closes at 5pm on 26 June. Once registered, artists are invited to submit their works through one of the regional collection centres.
The 2015 entry fees range from £18 for one work handed in direct to the London Submission Centre, to £25 for 3 works handed in via the Regional Submission Centres.
