Jackson Pollock, Tate Liverpool
This exhibition explores Pollock’s lesser known black action paintings. Created during the final years of his life between 1951 and ’53, they are presented alongside drawings from the same period, as well as a number of virtually unknown and rarely seen sculptures.

Phyllida Barlow, Fruitmarket, Edinburgh
For over four decades Barlow has been developing her tactile and seemingly unstable objects. This collection of specially commissioned new work features a set of large sculptures that engulf the gallery space. Made from plywood, cardboard, fabric, plaster, paint and plastic, they certainly pack a punch.

Acquisition, QUAD, Derby
This group exhibition features four Midlands-based artists: Elizabeth Rowe, Clay Smith, Michael Forbes and Robin Newman. Each explore the legacy of the Enlightenment period, with highlights including Smith’s photomontages and an interactive sound installation by Newman which references the music and composers of the period.
