Bold Tendencies, Peckham Rye Multistorey Car Park, London
Gallerist Hannah Barry’s Bold Tendencies returns for its annual summer residency in a Peckham multi-storey car park. The unique setting is this year home to a newly-commissioned work by Richard Wentworth, whose painted abstract design covers the entire floor area of the car park roof, incorporating some of the walls.

Paul Neagu, Henry Moore Institute, Leeds
This bumper exhibition features over 100 works by the Romanian-born artist Paul Neagu (1938-2004). It features a number of tactile boxes and edible sculptures, as well as drawings, films, texts and archival material. For Neagu, encountering art with touch, smell, taste and sound was as important as vision. This show illustrates why.

Lucky Dragons, Focal Point Gallery, Southend-on-Sea
For this intriguing show, Los Angeles-based art band Lucky Dragons have transformed the gallery’s purpose-built Bear Pit space into an experimental site for long distance communication. Visitors are restricted to a raised gantry, from which streaming images, sound and language in an array of feedback loops test new forms of exchange between audience and performer.

The Sleight of Hand Bureau for Emancipated Touch, Nottingham Contemporary, Nottingham
Presented in cabinet drawers in the gallery’s Small Collections Room, this exhibition from interdisciplinary artist Traci Kelly explores the characters of a variety of female historical figures. Her research-led practice features performance, text, installation and video, with the results inviting visitors to interact with her work in unusual ways.

Robert Mapplethorpe, Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Aberystwyth
This show features an overview of renowned photographer Robert Mapplethorpe’s self portraits and portraits. A number of high profile faces crop up, including Patti Smith, Andy Warhol and David Hockney. Also featuring a small number of flower and still-life works.
