Enrico David, The Hepworth, Wakefield
Past Turner Prize nominee Enrico David is known for an eclectic style that encompasses painting, sculpture, textiles and installation. Exploring the human figure as a metaphor for transformation, this solo show features 20 new works created in the past two years. Alongside a series of monumental large-scale human figures, David is exhibiting several smaller sculptures that feature more intimately-scaled details.

I Can Read With My Eyes Shut, S1 Artspace, Sheffield
This group exhibition features four artists who have taken part in S1 Artspace’s Bursary Programme for new graduates. There is a wide variety of work on show, including Emily Musgrave’s sculpture and collage, Joseph Cutts’ moving image works, Natalie Finnemore’s sculpture, and Peter Martin’s sound and video.

Drag Push HOOT, Mary Mary, Glasgow
This solo show from London-based artist Alexis Teplin includes a series of unstretched patchwork paintings hanging like banners throughout the space. These act as a backdrop to performances of the artist’s play, Drag Push Hoot, which portrays two men and two women mirroring and watching each other’s actions.

Right Here, Right Now, The Lowry, Salford
Featuring 16 international artists including Thomson & Craighead, Julie Freeman, and net art pioneers Eva and Franco Mattes, the Lowry’s winter exhibition is a bumper exploration of contemporary digital art. Much of the work addresses how technology affects our everyday lives, whether it be surveillance, artificial intelligence, voyeurism or online dating.

Jim Shaw, Simon Lee, London
Los Angeles-based artist Jim Shaw’s darkly comic paintings explore everything from material wealth, innocence and guilt, to man’s relationship with nature and religious fanaticism. Utilising American history, mythologies and his personal memories and collections, the results are a critique on social and economic power systems.
