Rutherford Chang: We Buy White Albums, FACT, Liverpool
The vinyl revival of recent years takes a new twist in the current show at Liverpool’s FACT. Rutherford Chang’s installation mimics a traditional record store. The catch? It only stocks copies of first-pressings of The Beatles’ White Album. Also featured is a vinyl album Chang created by layering 100 different copies of the record from his collection, exploring the sonic and visual differences between the aged vinyl discs and covers.
