Jeremy Deller, The Modern Institute, Glasgow
Turner Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller roams the Scottish landscape through a series of works that include painting, film, photography, screenprints, Dalbeattie granite and printed fabric beanbags. Taking land and its ownership as its theme, the show includes a centerpiece painting, Monarchs of the Glen (2014), painted by Stuart Hughes – who Deller worked with for his 2013 British Pavilion show in Venice – which depicts Tory MP and landowner Richard Benyon lying on a moor as five raptors make a meal of him.
