Five emerging artists from the south east of England have been nominated for the 2014 Platform Graduate Award.
One nomination was made by each of the Award’s partner galleries: Aspex, Portsmouth; De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill; Modern Art Oxford; MK Gallery, Milton Keynes; and Turner Contemporary, Margate. This follows a series of summer season exhibitions where work by 31 local fine art graduates was profiled.
The shortlisted artists are: Izabela Brudkiewicz, Sophie Dixon, Holger Kilumets, Samuel Lloyd and Rachel Minott. Each are now in the running to receive a £2,500 bursary and a year of bespoke mentoring from an experienced art professional.
The winner will be announced at a special event at aspex on 1 November.
