Between Materials and Mechanisms
Elizabeth Murton has been artist in residence at UH Galleries for the last six months exploring cross-disciplinary ideas regarding the human body, its mechanisms and materials, through engagement with specialists, academics and participants. Her resulting architectural installation uses textiles to transform the gallery space into a web of visceral threads. The exhibition is accompanied by a symposium and drinks reception on Saturday 1 October.
17 September – 29 October 2016, Art and Design Gallery, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield.

Pleasure Islands
Robin Megannity, Eilis Otway and Wayne Robinson are among the 11 early and mid-career painters who feature in this exhibition. A collaborative project, this is the second of a series that draws on connections within the group to extend invitations to new artists with each exhibition. Recordings of the space and audio responding to the paintings will form a soundtrack that will accompany the wall-based works.
Until 17 September 2016, 3Space, Scottish House, Mount Street, Manchester.

Viscositecture
Jason and Becky make work about architectural space, how people inhabit it and how the flow and rhythm of people within the city becomes a ‘viscose existence’. This evolving work will have four parts to it and will use installation, sound and performativity to alter the exhibition visitor’s experience and relationship to the space.
Until 19 November 2016, Mission Gallery, Gloucester Place, Maritime Quarter, Swansea.
