Constructivism, minimalism, surrealism and the unconscious. I’ve researched these topics and was more passionate in finding out more information about surrealism, dreams and unconscious, and would like to research this further than the first two listed. I have an interest in researching Freud’s, Jung’s, and Klein’s work. With the reality of the work I’ve done so far however, is more related to constructivism and minimalism because of its geometric characteristics. My solution to this is to look at more examples of surrealist artworks, then appropriate my work to something that’s not quite logical. At the moment my work reacts rationally e.g. I dropped the shapes on the floor and the objects reacted expectedly, so I want to add an element that’s not entirely rational.
