Aleksandar Basic

Aleksandar Basic - Bašić (Serbian born 1975 in Croatia then Yugoslavia) is a British contemporary visual artist working in the mediums of painting, drawing, print and sculpture. Since 1997 he is living and working in the UK and currently lives in London. Studied art at University of Derby BA Illustration course, Derby, UK (1998 - 2002) and MA Media Arts at Manchester Metropolitan University, Manchester, UK (2004 - 2007). Aside from his work as an artist, Aleksandar also works with adults and children as a lecturer and a teacher. He has also had his animations published in a number of high profile publications including The Independent. I am very much interested in existentialism, impressionism, cubism and most of the other isms. When creating artwork, I am not thinking about style but rather how and what I want to achieve. I am very much interested in how things work and I investigate this in different aspects of form, shape, light and colour. London
