Following on from my discoveries of the hidden plinths and unusual exhibiting spaces, I have begun my experimental phase of placing site specific works into them. This is my first – taking the shape of the frame of the space, […]
The beginning weeks of my residency consisted of wandering around Digbeth and generally discovering the area. This has led me to discover these intruiging ready made platforms/shelves/plinths. Some of these are formed from weathering and damage to buildings or are […]
Perspective drawings i have been trying out. (Excuse the grubby finger prints!) Just experiments for now but can’t decide which i prefer – with or without the perspective lines?? If I’m honest, although I am enjoying freely experimenting with drawing […]

These are some pieces i have started making for an exhibition at CoRe Enson Works in Longton – Stoke-on-Trent. The piece explores the floor plans of the building and highlighting the particular room which it will be exhibited in. More […]
My degree show piece – exploring the architecture and shapes which arise from Staffordshire University’s campus in Stoke-on-Trent.
Experimenting for the Degree Show Here are a number of laser cut components which are originally sourced from the shape of Staffordshire University’s campus. I am layering and placing the different components to reconfigure the original layout of the campus.
This wall drawing is situated in my university studios. The image is of the perimeter of the studios – viewed from Google Maps. The first photograph is taken from the angle of the projector which i used to draw it […]
[OCCUPIED] – YMCA Sky Room I see this piece as a series of experiments, exploring the shape of the YMCA Norths Staffs building. With the site having individual buildings, I was able to experiment with changing the formations – creating […]
[OCCUPIED] – Airspace Gallery My work which was exhibited here was a representation of the gallery itself using stacks of laser cut white card, altering the shape of the building through the layering and changes of direction of the card.
Exploration through placement of shape. The perimeter of the YMCA Norths Staffs has been laser cut several times on card, allowing the ability to alter the architecture through the use of repetition and layering.
Back in the studio. A photograph from my assessment piece has been drawn out and traced around the perimetre. I have then cut these shapes and experimented with them with paper initially and soon plan to realise these in Perspex […]
