My sculptures usually begin with a research expedition to a museum or a landscape and develop through extensive experimentation with materials and processes in my studio. My work investigates landscape and the representation of nature using an abstract visual language. I am interested in using materials to represent something as complex as an ocean or a land mass simply through form or colour or line. I move between drawing, sculpture and printmaking and I consider my work to be a collection of specimens that I have discovered through the process of making. My sculptures and installations are moments when I bring several objects together with the desire to communicate another world. London
