Kris Mercer

Christine Mercer was born in 1959 and has used the name Kris since her school days. In the early days it was used without the surname as a pseudonym for her writings and poetry. Later when signing paintings or poetic works it became amalgamated with the initials CM. This is still in use today for all paintings, poetry and photography. Studied at Mansfield College of Arts. She has had one solo exhibition of paintings and had work included in various other exhibitions. Sales of work in the UK, USA and Cyprus. Of her new work she says "I work in acrylic, occasionally in oils in an abstract realist style. These artworks explore the rural landscape from a bird’s-eye view, capturing the dynamic interplay of shapes, colours, contours, and lines that define the land. There really has been no stopping me since glimpsing the ever changing vista through an aeroplane window.“ Nottinghamshire
