Artist / Curator Debbie Sharp and co-Founder of The Penthouse artist led experimental art projects. A multi-disciplined visual artist, often site-specific and project-based, creating works in different mediums according to each projects context and needs, Working with performance, sound, print, sculpture and installation. working within spaces that you would class as "non art space" and with " Non Art Audiences" and site-specific. To Challenge and create works that are issue based and evoke emotions in the audience, by using triggers to tap into memory and senses.Themes of past works have included Bradford and The Yorkshire Ripper, Trauma and Containment, Mortality and Remembrance, Sexuality and Gender. Sharp as previously worked on commissions with CFCCA, The Whitworth Gallery, The Peoples History Museum, Royal Northern College Of Music, and produced work for VOID Derry, Open Eye Gallery Liverpool, Manchester art gallery, Deptford x festival London, LOOK11 international photography festival,HYPERLOCAL festival Buenos Aires. Sluice art fair London and Exchange Rates New York, and been featured about her work in The Wire. Sharp was also a member of the cult punk riot girl band Valerie, and experimental band Womb.
