Gabriel Parfitt
SCULPTOR | PHOTOGRAPHER
In my work as a sculptor, I specialise in using steel rod and found metal. I find the endless versatility of metal to be inspiring, allowing me to draw in space to create dynamic linear structures. My subject matter is driven by the movement and organic shapes found in plants, animals and the human figure.
My photographic process involves traditional and creative photographic methods including in-camera functionality such as multiple and long exposures to manipulate natural light sources.
I am based in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire and my background is in painting, sculpture and photography. I have exhibited throughout London and the UK and I am the Director of the Free Painters and Sculptors Collective (FPS London). I am an experienced Arts Project Manager, most recently for the national homeless charity Crisis as well as an Arts Tutor, specialising in working with vulnerable adults.
Currently I am resuming a long dormant sculpting career and I am enjoying the process of building up a collection in my new workshop at Noxon Farm in the Forest of Dean. Check out my social media for upcoming exhibitions and events. I am also the resident photographer for Made in Ross, an artist collective based in Ross on Wye. Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire
