I am a Level 6 Fine Art Student at University Campus Suffolk.
For the final year of University, my work explores Colour. I have been looking at numerous artists, in particular Yves Klein; taking inspiration from his 'Anthropometriés' creating my own body works and looking into his vast use of colour (mainly blue) As well as looking at Dan Flavin's lights - I have been taking photograph's at night of all the artificial light, such as car headlights, signs from shops and all that is gloriously fluorescent.
When you think of night, it's mean't to be dark and quite a lifeless void but life seems to come more alive at night with everywhere lit up with neon - this is what I am interested in, a kind of extension; a world within a world using unnatural light and colour to brighten both day and night.
Another artist I have been researching is Katharina Grosse who makes these huge landscape/installation pieces using natural materials such as soil and then spray painting them in bright masses of colours. Its like a fantasy film set and very offlandish.
