Keiken Collective
Keiken is a collaborative practice predominately made up of Tanya Cruz, Hana Omori, Jess Pemberton and Isabel Ramos formed in Falmouth in 2014. Keiken frequently collaborates with Oh Mr James, The Floating Cellist, Otto Teakle and others.
Keiken is the Japanese word for experience, something that is integral to their collaborative practice and philosophy. Keiken’s aim is to challenge the dynamic of reality and to question how societal introjection governs the way we think and perceive. In expanding ‘networks of networks’ Keiken explores how technology is affecting our individual and collective consciousness. Keiken operate through the modes of digital metanarrative, constructed and/or subverted realities and play. Writing is used as a primary tool to ignite a multifaceted praxis that materialises across many media, often operating at once or in conversation with another. Falmouth
