Kate Baker

I’m Kate, the business founder and sole creative behind Kate Baker mosaic muse. My creativeness focuses on making visual, tactile, unique and inspiring, colourful and vibrant pieces of mosaic and glass fusion artwork. I’m inspired predominantly by the beauty within the Natural World and colour and pattern in works by artists Beatriz Milhazes, David Hockney, Monet and Klimt, but also environmentalist Sir David Attenborough also. I enjoy repurposing discarded ceramics, mosaic tiles and kitchen unit doors into my wall art designs and with hearts, beach huts and flower shaped mosaics I have a growing product line. I also hand cutting and kiln fire glass to create fused glass jewellery and insertions for my mosaics. My main aim is to create newly loved pieces of art for the home, full of pattern, texture and their history. My work takes many hours to consider, design, construct and complete, but are all unique. I use glass, ceramics, beads, semi precious stones, millefiori and found items to create interest and personalisation. My art work is owned and enjoyed in many countries around the World. I deliver beginner workshops at my home in Deal, Kent for you to learn how to make mosaic.
