Current work highlights the issues surrounding Alzheimers disease. I created an installation entitled 'Loose Threads' which consists of two drawers (lined with a variety of mixed media) that have been taken away from their original context, flipped and repositioned onto the wall. By treating the drawers in such a way, i am imitating what happens to an Alzheimers patients memories. I wanted to create a safe place to home precious family memories in the unfortunate event of anyone in my family ever losing their memory. They represent two generations, my own and my grandparents.
