I have made art since 1968 when I had two oils exhibited in the Pendle Artists' show in Burnley Library. I work in a number of media ranging from oils, prints, sculptures and Performance Art. I began creating characters in 1971 when Apulhed (phonetic for Apple-HeadMan) was first drawn. In 2000 I created 12 masks of different characters to wear in a performance called Nonogon in Colchester Library.
I have self-published books since 1975, in 2013 I completed a Masters Degree at The Minories in Colchester. Since gaining my Masters I've made/published a number of books; some are unique or small editions, some are letterpress printed by David Jury in collaboration. Some are digitally printed usually by R J Printers of Maldon who have also done some of my prints.
Previously I have displayed at the Fine Press Bookfair Oxford , Baltic Gateshead, BABE at Arnolfini Bristol and Notts Bookfair.
There are several books of mine in various collections including; Baltic Artist Book Archive, Winchester School of Art artist's book archive, The Jan Michalski Foundation Zurich, The British Library Contemporary Collection and The John Rylands, Manchester University Library.
I've also had articles published in The Artist's Year Book 2014-15, and Journal of Artist's Books 38. Maldon
